Ben Berteau - Owner
Ben Berteau is a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and attended Presbyterian Christian School in elementary, and then went on to graduate from Columbia Academy. From there, he attended Jones County Junior College and Mississippi State University to finish with a degree in Industrial Engineering and a minor in math. He has over 15 years’ experience as a business owner in multiple areas, including rental property and home inspection services. The home care idea was formulated in 2014 with his desire to provide a service that makes a difference in a person’s quality of life.
Alisa Berteau grew up near Waynesboro, Mississippi and after graduating from Wayne Academy, went on to attend Jones County Junior College where she met Ben. After graduating with a Pharm. D. from the University of Mississippi, she and Ben spent 10 years in Collierville, Tennessee before moving their family back to the Hattiesburg area in 2010. Alisa is a full-time mother of their four children, a part-time pharmacist at Rodger’s Family Pharmacy in Petal, Mississippi, and manages the Human Resources and Accounting departments for Southern Grace.

Gregory "Shawn" Elkins, Agency Director, grew up in Columbia, MS. He graduated from Columbia Academy, and then went on to pursue a degree in Psychology at William Carey University. Shawn has been a member of a volunteer fire department and received training in emergency medical care. He was a member of the Air Force Auxiliary where he served as a team commander and medical officer of a search and rescue unit. Shawn realized his passion for senior home health after caring for his ailing grandmother. He has been in home health for several years since her passing, and has made it his life's mission to help others wherever he can. He started with Southern Grace as a caregiver and now serves as the Agency Director.

Lesley Kline grew up in Semmes, Alabama, and graduated from Mary G. Montgomery High School in 2013. After graduation, she moved to Hattiesburg to begin her undergraduate career at the University of Southern Mississippi. In December 2017, she will complete her degree in Banking and Finance. After completing her undergraduate degree, she intends on pursuing a master’s in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi. Lesley has been working with Southern Grace since November 2016 as their Office Administrator, and looks forward to continuing her career in senior home care and growing with the company.

Brandi Stephens grew up in Petal, Mississippi and is a graduate of Petal High School. She is a mother of
two girls, and an active member of the Spiritual Life Center in Petal. She has more than 10 years’
experience in the home care field working for Jamison Personal Care Home for Mentally Handicapped, as
well as caring privately for several years. She works in Southern Grace’s main office, as well as fills in shifts
from time to time, to make sure all clients get uninterrupted service.
